ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — (USDA) — Total red meat production under federal inspection for the week ending August 15 was estimated at 956.6 million pounds. This was 1.8 percent higher than a week ago and 1.4 percent lower than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was 2.5 percent lower from last year.
