A TOUGH SUMMER, one of the worst drouths in years, left sheep producers on Colorado’s Western Slope struggling to find water, even in the high country. Many sold their lambs a month early. These sheep, owned by Julie Hansmire, grazed north of Vail before being shipped in late August.
